Musical Theater Workshop:

Dance

Join us for a workshop will guide participants through some basics of musical theater jazz and tap dance, helping to develop a foundation of movement to be used in community theater productions, high school musicals, and more. Prepare to move more confidently and never dread a dance callback again!

Important Information for Participants:

Attire: Wear any comfortable clothing you can move in. For the jazz portion of the workshop, jazz shoes, character shoes, sneakers, or grippy socks would all be great options. For the tap portion of the workshop, bring tap shoes if you have them, but flat soled dress shoes or even a flat soled sneaker (like Converse) will work well. No need to invest in new shoes for this workshop!

Presenter Bio:

Donna Lynch earned her Master of Arts degree in Dance Education through the University of Northern Colorado, where she was awarded the Graduate Dean’s Scholarship. She is a member of Dance Masters of America, Inc., National Dance Education Organization, Pennsylvania Dance Education Organization, and Mid-Atlantic Dance Masters Chapter 17, where she serves as Immediate Past President and Co-Secretary. She also travels regionally and internationally as a dance competition judge. Donna has choreographed musical productions for Penn State Harrisburg (Cabaret), Lebanon Valley College (On the Town, Tuck Everlasting), Theatre Harrisburg (The Hunchback of Notre Dame), Keystone Theatrics (Monty Python's Spamalot), Central York High School (Catch Me If You Can, Little Shop of Horrors, Beauty and the Beast), The Belmont Theatre (Side Show, White Christmas, Sweeney Todd, Wizard of Oz, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Peter Pan Jr.), York Catholic High School (Guys and Dolls, Bye Bye Birdie), and Weary Arts Group (Hairspray). Donna also earned a B.A. in Journalism, Literature, and Creative Writing from Seton Hill University, and has extensive experience in marketing and project management. She currently teaches at The Studio in Enola, PA, and is an Adjunct Lecturer in Dance at Penn State York.
